Ola has peed on a tree next to the president of Botswana, got his tooth broken by a New York City cop, been arrested on the border between Mongolia and Russia, founded his own record label and performed stand-up gigs that kept audiences in stitches. He loves to tell stories and have won two short film competitions and hosted a top-ranked radio show, as well as written scripts for “Brille” and “Praktisk Info med Jon Almaas”. As an avid traveler he has explored over 60 countries, including a memorable 10-day visit to North Korea and a bicycle ride across Cuba. His adventures include trying to sneak into a prison in Bolivia and being kidnapped in the mountains of Myanmar. He went viral before viral was a word with his drunken bet about one million giraffes. A bet he won, after working nonstop on it for 440 days. He’s also worked as a designer for the past 15 years for companies like NRK, Statoil, Schibsted, and Lyse. Currently, he is making an impact at Laerdal Medical and continues to do idiotic things, but now alongside his two daughters.

Ola has taken a deep dive into the world of AI, and now he’s resurfacing to share what he’s learned. This is not a talk about the latest tools or anything glossy and fancy, but about process, practice, and the evolving role of designers in an AI-powered world. The technology is probably here to stay, but what does that really mean for us as designers? How do we adapt, stay relevant, and even thrive? Ola’s been hands-on, using AI to spark new real products and real change in his organization. This is a grounded, honest take from someone who’s actually walked the walk, and is now here to talk the talk.
