"Typography is everywhere and it’s a critical part of design, but it is often overlooked until it matters."

Oliver Schöndorfer is a typography consultant and UI designer from Austria, helping UX and design teams create better digital products through smarter type. With over 15 years of experience, he empowers designers to improve usability, accessibility, and brand consistency by building strong typographic systems.

Through his YouTube channel Pimp my Type, the Font Friday Newsletter, talks, workshops, and mentoring, he shares practical tips with humour and heart – all aimed at uncovering the hidden potential in every interface. His love for type began in design school – triggered by a badly spaced shampoo label – and he once switched banks over a terrible logotype.

When not nerding out over kerning, he enjoys yoga, hiking with his wife and three daughters, and grinding coffee by hand – because details matter, and somehow you gotta keep it all going.

Bad Typography Kills UX

@ Monday 12:30 - 13:00

Typography is a key part of every design – yet it’s often an afterthought, until something goes seriously wrong. They show that typography isn’t just about aesthetics – it’s a critical part of user experience.

In this fun, fast-paced session, you’ll sharpen your eye for type and walk away with practical tips to make your digital product clearer, more effective, and far better for your users. Learn how to transform typography from a silent killer into one of your most powerful tools for crafting standout user experiences.
