Digital innovation in a world of pagers and fax machines
Hospitals around the world are still heavily reliant on paper and legacy technologies like pagers and fax machines. Why is this, and how do you introduce modern design and technology in a conservative sector with high markets barriers?
Petter tells the story about how Diffia has avoided the overcrowded graveyards of startups within the hospital sector and beaten the etablished industry in the most prestiguous and competitive public tender of Norwegian healthcare in 2019.
Petter is a former hospital doctor turned to design and technology as co-founder and CEO of Diffia.
Diffia develops Nimble, a modern and user-friendly digital assistant for doctors and nurses. They were rated Norway's Best Health Tech Startup in 2017 and Best AI/Machine Learning Startup in 2018.
In addition to his medical degree from the University of Oslo, Petter has studied medical informatics at Harvard and has an M.P.H. in Applied Epidemiology and Statistics from Yale, as well as a Ph.D. in sepsis from Rikshospitalet i Norway.
